Finally Sobered Up

I've been stoned for about three full days in a row, this morning when I woke up for the first time I didn't smoke any weed... Anyways, comment if you agree that weed is awesome!

Some Awesome Places to Find Good Music (Plus: An Extra Tip for Finding Music on Google)

I am a music lover, and thus I always scrounge the internet for new stuff. Here's a list of some of the best places to find new (or old) and most of the time awesome music.

Mu's Essentials
This is a great site for finding out what the supposed to be essentials of any genre. Great for when you want to explore some different kinds of music.

Mu's Share Thread Archive
This guy has stored almost 400 mu share threads on the interwebz. Great place to find music, and most people host on mediafire, which means that the file is most likely still online. Because mediafire is awesome.

Fetch the Aerial
Great blog if you're an electronic music lover like me. Always posts awesome shit ranging from dubstep to wonky to instrumental hip hop. Give him some love.

Also, if you want a quick way to download albums through google do this:
type mediafire "album name" in google, and you will most likely find the album on mediafire. Mediafire links almost always work, and most often are free from any kinds of sh!t. Hope this helped.

Some Good Music

I'm a music lover, and thus I like to share some music too.

Here's my new favorite. This guy called Juj, hardly any listeners on Last.fm, but he deserves more. It's instrumental hip hop, and I advise you to smoke some ganja before listening!
You can download his stuff for free on his Myspace

How to Get Creative

Making music involves getting the creative juices flowing, and often this can be quite hard. Here are some tips to get creative and make some awesome stuff.

Try to Emulate Other Albums
If there is one album or artist in particular you like and would want to make the same style as him you might want to try to remake that album. Use the same chords, remake the vocals, whatever. Of course this could be considered plagiarism, but this will help you come up with new stuff. The best way to learn is to learn from people who are better than you.

Don't Force Anything
Creativity doesn't work well when you're forced into it. Just let ideas flow out of you, never delete anything. This way you'll have more stuff to later use when you're stuck.

Smoke some mary jane

What's the Best D.A.W.?

There a lot of D.A.W.'s (Digital Audio Workshops) out there, and people often query about which is the best, or which is easiest to use. Here's a quick overview of the best D.A.W.'s out there.

Ableton

This is my personal favorite, and the D.A.W. I use almost all of the time. It can be a bit hard to step into, but if you, as most others, started out with Fruityloops it shouldn't be to big of a problem. Ableton Live's live mixing capabilities are especially good. So check this out.

Cubase

My old D.A.W. Hard to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's a powerhouse. If you really want to be able to do a lot, but you also know how, then this should be your choice.

Reason

If you want usability and something you can easily pick up and start making music, Reason ought to be your choice. It's interface is easy to understand and it's synthesizers and other plug-ins are easy to use. This is how I began making music, perfect for beginners.
